The Camden Post 17 American Legion baseball team’s season came to an end Friday afternoon with a 4-3 loss to Easley Post 52 at Riley Park in Sumter.
Camden found itself in an early hole as Easley built a 4-0 lead, but Post 17 refused to go away. Camden battled back with three runs to pull within one and put the pressure on in the late innings.
Despite the comeback effort, Camden was unable to score the tying run as Easley held on to eliminate Post 17 from the South Carolina American Legion State Tournament.
Camden’s rally showed the determination that defined its season, but the comeback came up just short as Easley advanced with the 4-3 victory.
