The Lugoff-Elgin Demons continued their impressive 2026 football season Friday night, October 9th, shutting out the A.C. Flora Falcons 13-0 in a hard-fought region matchup at Lugoff-Elgin Stadium.
The victory improved the Demons to 6-1 on the season and snapped a nine-year losing streak against the Falcons.
It was a defensive battle throughout much of the evening, with neither team able to put points on the scoreboard through the first three quarters. However, the Demons finally broke through in the fourth quarter behind their ground attack.
Running back Tiyon Fanning delivered another outstanding performance, rushing for 141 yards and a touchdown while averaging nearly nine yards per carry. Quarterback Zach Williams also found the end zone as Lugoff-Elgin scored twice in the final period to secure the victory.
But the biggest story of the night was the Demons’ defense.
Lugoff-Elgin recorded five sacks and kept the Falcons off the scoreboard all evening. Rivers Moak led the defensive charge with two sacks, while Tavion Nelson, Keanan Pam, and Logan Hinton each recorded one.
The loss dropped A.C. Flora to 1-6 on the season, while Lugoff-Elgin continued building momentum toward the postseason.
The Demons will look to keep rolling this coming Friday night when they travel to Columbia to take on the Dreher Blue Devils. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30.
For Lugoff-Elgin, Friday night’s victory was another statement that the Demons are a team to watch as the regular season enters its final stretch.
