A major multi-agency drug operation in Camden has resulted in four arrests and the seizure of significant amounts of narcotics. Investigators with the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office, Camden Police Department, and SLED executed search warrants at three locations across the city, targeting suspected drug distribution activity. Authorities say they recovered methamphetamine, fentanyl, crack cocaine, and powder cocaine, along with more than twelve hundred dollars in cash—marking what officials call a significant disruption to local drug trafficking.
Arrested were 37-year-old William Ernest Bethel, who faces multiple trafficking charges along with manufacturing crack and distribution near a school or park; 60-year-old William “Ray Ray” Bethel, charged with trafficking meth and fentanyl and distribution; 39-year-old Shelley Salmond, charged with trafficking fentanyl and possession of meth; and 48-year-old Hope Dorsey, charged with second-offense possession of crack cocaine. Investigators say several of those arrested have prior federal drug convictions.
