The Atlanta Braves closed out a perfect weekend by completing a four-game sweep of the Washington Nationals with a 4-2 victory on Sunday at Truist Park. Atlanta won all four games of the series by scores of 5-4 on Thursday, 6-2 on Friday, 8-3 on Saturday, and 4-2 on Sunday to carry momentum into the new week.
The sweep marked five consecutive wins for the Braves, who received timely hitting and solid pitching throughout the series. Atlanta outscored Washington 23-11 over the four games while continuing to strengthen its position as the calendar turns to August.
After an off day Monday, the Braves return to Truist Park on Tuesday to begin a three-game series against the Miami Marlins.
