The Atlanta Braves’ seven-game winning streak came to an end Monday night as the San Francisco Giants pulled away for a 7-3 victory.
Rafael Devers got San Francisco started with his 30th home run of the season in the first inning, marking the fifth 30-homer season of his career.
Atlanta battled back, with Michael Harris II launching his 23rd home run of the year, but the Giants took control in the sixth. Osleivis Basabe homered to begin a four-run inning before rookie Turner Hill delivered a two-run double to break a 3-3 tie. Bryce Eldridge added an RBI single to make it 6-3.
Braves starter Bryce Elder took the loss after allowing five runs over 5 1/3 innings.
Despite Atlanta owning one of baseball’s best records, San Francisco proved to be a difficult matchup this season, winning five of six games against the Braves.
