First Palmetto Bank Chairman, President and CEO Samuel “Sammy” Small, Jr. has been elected Chairman of the South Carolina Bankers Association. Small began his one-year term on July 1 after being elected by members during the association’s annual meeting. He joined the Camden-based bank in 2006 as General Counsel and became President and CEO in 2024. First Palmetto, founded in Camden in 1904, now operates 22 locations across South Carolina with more than $1.1 billion in assets.
