Sheheen Announces Run For Camden Mayor

According to a release sent to WPUB/WCAM, former SC State Senator Vincent Sheheen has announced his intention to run for the office of Mayor of the City of Camden on a platform of controlling sprawl, improving utilities and attracting new tourism for small business growth. 

A lifelong resident of Camden, Sheheen has served in numerous leadership and nonprofit roles including prosecutor for the City of Camden, member of the SC. House of Representatives and State Senator.  Among his accomplishments, Sheheen introduced and passed the bill that removed the Confederate Flag from the State House grounds, helped push four-year old kindergarten across the State, introduced and passed the Restructuring Act of 2014, created the Office of Inspector General and chaired the Infrastructure Improvement Committee in 2016/2017 which allocated increased funding for our state’s roads.

Camden’s Mayoral Election will take place in November.
