Deputies collected a cellphone and jacket found inside the residence that did not belong to the victim, and the case was forwarded to investigators.

A roadway confrontation near White Pond Road and Interstate 20 was reported September 30. Deputies also investigated several assaults during the reporting period, including an incident on McRae Road in which a man reported being attacked and bitten by a dog and another on Fox Hill Road in which a man reported being struck in the arm with a metal baseball bat. No arrest was reported in either case.
One of the week’s arrests came October 1 following a traffic stop on Highway 1 South in Lugoff. During a search, deputies reported finding drug paraphernalia, marijuana and suspected methamphetamine. A passenger was arrested, and additional suspected methamphetamine was reportedly discovered during a search at the Kershaw County Detention Center. The substances had a combined field weight of approximately 1.4 grams and tested positive for methamphetamine. The passenger was charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Deputies also made arrests involving outstanding warrants during the week, including a driver wanted out of Lancaster County for grand larceny and another person taken into custody following a traffic stop on Lockhart Road on an active Kershaw County warrant.
