Ozzie Albies hit his 19th home run of the season, while Austin Riley added a two-run blast as the Braves stretched their winning streak to six games.
Bryce Elder followed with one of his best outings of the season Wednesday, allowing just one hit over seven innings in a 4-1 win. Drake Baldwin drove in two runs, Mauricio Dubón collected his 600th career hit, and Elder improved to 8-6 while continuing his dominant stretch on the mound.
Atlanta completed the sweep Thursday with an 11-3 rout behind Ronald Acuña Jr., who belted two home runs, including one aided by a collision between two Miami outfielders. Matt Olson added his 32nd homer, Dubón collected four hits, and Michael Harris II finished with three hits as the Braves won their eighth straight.
The winning streak ended Friday in New York despite late home runs from Riley and Olson. The Yankees rallied with two outs in the ninth before walking off the Braves 3-2 in 10 innings. New York followed with a 5-4 victory Saturday, as Gerrit Cole outdueled Chris Sale despite home runs from Olson and Acuña.
Atlanta bounced back Sunday to avoid the sweep. Grant Holmes delivered another outstanding performance, throwing six scoreless innings, while Matt Olson hit his 34th home run of the season. Michael Harris II drove in the go-ahead run in the 10th inning, and Tyler Kinley recorded his first save in a 2-1 victory.
The Braves now return home for a three-game series against the New York Mets beginning Monday night. Bryce Elder (8-6, 3.69 ERA) is scheduled to face Christian Scott (3-3, 3.15 ERA) in the opener as Atlanta looks to keep its strong second-half momentum rolling.
