The Kershaw County School District, along with local law enforcement and emergency personnel, will conduct an active shooter response training exercise at Lugoff-Elgin High School on Monday, November 2, from 7:30 AM until noon.
Residents may notice an increased presence of police, emergency vehicles, and first responders in the area, but officials emphasize this is only a drill. The campus will be closed to visitors during the exercise. All district schools will also be closed to students Monday for a teacher professional development day.
The training is designed to improve emergency preparedness and coordinated response efforts.
