The late Kershaw County Sheriff Louis Lee “Hector” DeBruhl will be posthumously inducted into the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers Hall of Fame for Meritorious Service. DeBruhl becomes the first member of the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office to receive the prestigious statewide honor. He passed away in 1992, but his decades of service and leadership continue to be remembered. Current Sheriff Lee Boan called DeBruhl a local legend and said the recognition is well deserved. DeBruhl’s family will accept the honor during the induction ceremony.
