Drivers in Kershaw County are being urged to use caution around a bridge closure on Porter Road. The bridge on Porter Road, also known as S-28-47, over Spears Creek is currently closed while the South Carolina Department of Transportation makes repairs after an inspection found deficiencies. Drivers should slow down, watch for signs and crews, and avoid attempting to cross the closed bridge. Traffic is being detoured along Tower Road and Fort Jackson Road, adding about 2.6 miles to the trip. Weather permitting, the bridge is expected to reopen by September 25.
