Kershaw County students are showing continued academic growth in the latest round of state testing. The South Carolina Department of Education released 2025-2026 assessment results Monday, with Kershaw County School District improving in nine of 14 SC READY grade-level and subject categories. Lugoff Elementary, Pine Tree Hill Elementary and Lugoff-Elgin Middle exceeded state averages in every SC READY area tested. All district high schools also topped state averages in every area of the WIN Career Readiness Assessment. Superintendent Harrison Goodwin says the results show the district’s focus on consistent classroom instruction is working, while acknowledging there is still work ahead.
