Bethune Energy has announced a $1.8 million commitment over the next 20 years to the Community Medical Clinic of Kershaw County. The funding will help expand free healthcare services for uninsured residents in Bethune and across Kershaw County by bringing more medical care directly into the Bethune community. Clinic CEO Charlotte Rankin says the partnership will improve access to care and remove barriers for patients. Annual donations will begin once the proposed natural gas power plant becomes operational, with construction anticipated in 2028 or 2029 and operations expected to begin by 2031.
