The first day of school for Kershaw County School District students is this Thursday, July 30. Elementary schools begin at 7:30, middle schools at 7:45, and high schools at 8 a.m. Four- and five-year-old kindergarten students will follow a staggered start, with students whose last names begin A through L attending Thursday, M through Z on Friday, and all kindergarten students reporting Monday, August 3. District officials remind parents that breakfast and lunch will be provided free to all students again this year through the Community Eligibility Provision. Bus drivers will contact families before school begins, and parents can also use the My Ride K-12 app for transportation updates.
