First responders from across Kershaw County will come together Friday for a five-mile Walk of Remembrance marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks.
The walk begins at 9:03 a.m. at the Lugoff Fire Department and will travel along Highway 1 to Broad Street, then Rutledge and Lyttleton streets before ending at the Camden Fire Department. The public is encouraged to line the route with American flags and patriotic displays and cheer on the first responders taking part. Eight local public safety agencies will be represented as participants remember the 2,977 lives lost on September 11th, 2001, and honor the courage and sacrifice of first responders.
The walk is expected to last about one hour and 45 minutes.
