On Thursday, SC Attorney General Alan Wilson announced a seven-count State Grand Jury indictment involving two former employees of the South Carolina Department of Transportation. James Murray Cooper and Curtis Sims Jr. are charged with ethics violations and accepting unlawful compensation. Prosecutors allege both men received thousands of dollars from private contractors who were awarded state-funded contracts.

The case was investigated in partnership with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and other agencies. Attorney General Wilson emphasized that all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
