A Sumter County farm is expected to receive nearly $189,000 in federal funding to expand its beef processing operations. The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced that Neverdun Farms will receive a $188,925 grant to purchase new equipment, improve storage capacity and increase productivity.

The investment is expected to boost the farm’s annual cattle processing capacity from around 300 to as many as 400 head, while also supporting additional employment. The grant is part of more than $603,000 being awarded to two South Carolina meat processors through a USDA program aimed at strengthening local agriculture and increasing competition.
