At the request of the Jackson family and numerous members of the South Carolina General Assembly, Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr. will lie in state at the South Carolina Statehouse on Monday, March 2, 2026.
Governor Henry McMaster has directed that flags atop the Statehouse be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on March 2 in recognition of Reverend Jackson’s legacy and impact. The South Carolina Department of Administration is coordinating arrangements with representatives of the Jackson family. Further information will be announced as plans are finalized.
