A new stoplight is active in Elgin. The intersection of Whiting Way and White Pond Road just north of I-20 will have an active traffic light soon. Currently, the intersection has flashing red lights as you come up to White Pond Road from Whiting Way and flashing yellow lights on White Pond Road. Remember, flashing yellow lights means travel through the intersection with caution, while flashing red means the same as a stop sign.
