It was a tough Friday night for the North Central Knights as undefeated Mid-Carolina rolled to a 48-0 victory in non-region high school football action.
The Rebels jumped on North Central early, scoring 14 points in the opening quarter before exploding for 27 more in the second. Mid-Carolina carried a commanding 41-0 advantage into halftime and added another touchdown in the third quarter to finish off the 48-0 victory.
The loss was a major turnaround for a North Central offense that had put together its best performance of the season just one week earlier. The Knights entered Friday’s game coming off a 56-8 road victory over Buford but were unable to find the end zone against a Mid-Carolina defense that recorded its second consecutive shutout.
With the loss, North Central falls to 1-3 on the season, while Mid-Carolina improves to a perfect 4-0. The Rebels have now outscored their opponents 167-42 through their first four games.
North Central will look to bounce back this Friday night when the Knights travel to take on Central at 7:30 p.m. The matchup will be North Central’s first region contest of the 2026 season.
