Rainfall totals for this Memorial Day Weekend in Kershaw County were significantly higher this year compared to last year. Records from our rain gauges at the radio station show this holiday weekend brought 5.86 inches of rain, compared to 0.25 inches during Memorial Day Weekend last year. Looking at the bigger picture, total rainfall from January through May is only slightly down overall. So far in 2026, the area has received 13.3 inches of rain, compared to 14.1 inches during the same period in 2025. Without this weekend’s rain and more rain to come this week, you can see why this area is under drought conditions. Significant chances for rain remain through the end of this week.
