The Lugoff Fire-Rescue Cadet Program is celebrating a strong showing at the South Carolina State Firefighters’ Association Fire-Rescue Conference in Myrtle Beach.
Ten Lugoff cadets competed in the Explorer and Junior Firefighter competition on June 13, facing teams from across the state. Cadet Amir Threatts earned first place in individual gear donning, while Harris Fuller captured second place. Lugoff also took first place in team gear donning and first place in the hose deployment competition. A second Lugoff team earned third place in hose deployment.
Fire Chief Chris Spitzer praised the cadets and advisors for their hard work and dedication, noting they train twice each week to sharpen their firefighting skills.
