The Lugoff-Elgin Middle School (LEMS) Beta Club recently completed a heartwarming service project, “Bears for Buddies,” bringing comfort to children in need. Over the past few weeks, Beta Club members and the LEMS community have collected hundreds of new stuffed animals to donate to the pediatric ward of the Kershaw County hospital. Beta Club members were encouraged to donate a stuffed animal as part of their service hours, but the generosity extended beyond the club. LEMS students and staff eagerly joined the cause, demonstrating the school’s deep commitment to kindness and community support.

The stuffed animals will soon be delivered to the hospital, offering comfort to young patients and reminding them that their community cares. Through projects like “Bears for Buddies,” LEMS continues to foster a culture of empathy and service, proving that even small acts of kindness can have a big impact.
