The annual Lake Wateree Fourth of July fireworks show returns Saturday night, continuing a tradition that dates back more than 40 years. The display begins at 9:30 p.m. at Lake Wateree State Park and will last about 22 minutes. This year’s celebration will include a special tribute to America’s 250th birthday, with the playing of Taps at 9:25 and the National Anthem performed on electric guitar. Organizers urge visitors to arrive early, as the park fills to capacity each year, and they’re reminding boaters to slow down and put safety first.
