It’s another big Friday night of high school football across Kershaw County, with North Central, Lugoff-Elgin, and Camden all taking the field tonight in important late-season matchups.

North Central Hosts Cheraw on Senior Night

The North Central Knights will be at home tonight as they welcome the Cheraw Braves to Kershaw for a Region 5-A showdown. North Central enters the contest at 4-5, while Cheraw comes in at 5-3 overall and 3-1 in region play.

The Knights will be looking to bounce back after having their three-game winning streak snapped by Lamar last week. Before that loss, North Central had put together a strong stretch that included victories over Lee Central and McBee.

Tonight will also be Senior Night at North Central, giving the Knights plenty of extra motivation as the seniors get an opportunity to play in front of the home crowd. Kickoff between North Central and Cheraw is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Lugoff-Elgin Travels to Richland Northeast

The Lugoff-Elgin Demons hit the road tonight for a Region 4-4A battle against the Richland Northeast Cavaliers in Columbia.

Lugoff-Elgin comes into the night at 7-1, while Richland Northeast sits at 2-6. The Demons have been playing some of their best football of the season, including a 43-13 victory over Dreher last Friday night.

There is plenty at stake for Lugoff-Elgin. A Demons victory tonight, combined with a Lancaster win over Dreher, would set up a winner-take-all showdown for the Region 4-4A championship next week.

You can listen to Lugoff-Elgin take on Richland Northeast tonight beginning at 7 p.m. on KOOL 102.7 FM.

Camden Heads to Lower Richland

The Camden Bulldogs will also be on the road tonight as they travel to Hopkins to take on the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets.

Camden enters tonight’s matchup at 6-2, while Lower Richland stands at 2-6. The Bulldogs are coming off an impressive 52-27 win over Brookland-Cayce last Friday and will look to keep that momentum rolling as the regular season winds down.

Lower Richland came up just short last week in a wild 35-34 loss to Swansea, so Camden will be facing a Diamond Hornets team looking to rebound on its home field.

You can listen to Camden take on Lower Richland tonight beginning at 7 p.m. on 98.7 FM Carolina Country Classics.

It all adds up to another exciting Friday night of high school football, with North Central battling Cheraw, Lugoff-Elgin visiting Richland Northeast, and Camden traveling to Lower Richland as all three Kershaw County programs look to finish the regular season strong.
