It was a perfect Friday night for Kershaw County high school football, as Camden, Lugoff-Elgin and North Central all came away with convincing victories, combining to score 161 points in their Week 3 matchups.
The Camden Bulldogs bounced back in a big way Friday night, defeating longtime rival Hartsville 49-21 at historic Zemp Stadium.
Coming off a tough 28-25 loss to Lugoff-Elgin, Camden’s offense exploded against the Red Foxes. The Bulldogs piled up 493 yards of total offense, including 306 through the air and 187 on the ground.
Quarterback Greyson Rimpf helped lead the offensive attack, while Bernard Green, Lavay Penny and Isiah Smith were among Camden’s standouts. The victory improved the Bulldogs to 2-1 on the season and gave Camden another win in its long-running rivalry with Hartsville.

The Lugoff-Elgin Demons continued their red-hot start to the season Friday night, improving to 3-0 with a dominating 56-21 victory over Nation Ford.
Senior running back Tiyon Fanning once again powered the Demons’ ground attack, scoring three touchdowns. Lugoff-Elgin rushed for 223 yards and added 169 yards through the air for 392 yards of offense.
The Demon defense also got into the act. Nation Ford freshman quarterback Brooks Treble threw three touchdown passes in his first varsity start, but Lugoff-Elgin forced several costly mistakes, including two interceptions and a fumble. Two of Nation Ford’s turnovers were returned for defensive touchdowns by the Demons.
Lugoff-Elgin has now opened the season with victories over Chapin, Camden and Nation Ford, scoring 125 points over its first three games. The Demons will have an open date this week before traveling to South Aiken on September 18.
After a difficult first two weeks of the season, North Central broke into the win column in impressive fashion Friday night, hammering Buford 56-8 on the road.
Quarterback Brayden Price threw for 125 yards and three touchdowns on just 10 pass attempts, while Logan Stokes accounted for 101 total yards and two touchdowns. One of the night’s biggest plays came when Stokes hauled in a pass and raced 76 yards.
North Central’s defense also turned in a strong performance, intercepting two passes. Caleb Egbon returned one of those interceptions for a touchdown, while Camauri Kelley recorded the Knights’ other pick.
The victory improved North Central to 1-2 after losses to Dreher and Andrew Jackson to begin the season. The Knights return home Friday night to take on Mid-Carolina and you can catch all the action starting at 7pm on Kool 102.7.
