Kershaw County has named Dr. Jermaine Gordon as Director of the Kershaw County Detention Center. Gordon brings nearly twenty years of experience in corrections and public safety, having served in leadership roles with the Florida Department of Corrections, the South Carolina Department of Corrections, the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice, and the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. He also serves as a Jail Manager Certification Commissioner for the American Jail Association. Dr. Gordon holds a Doctorate in Pastoral Counseling and is certified as both a Jail Manager and Correctional Health Professional. Gordon says he’s honored to serve Kershaw County and looks forward to working with the detention center team to build a safe, professional, and progressive facility for the community.
