The Kershaw County School District is celebrating excellence in education following its annual Teacher of the Year Gala. Mary Vannatter, a third-grade teacher at Pine Tree Hill Elementary, was named the 2026 District Teacher of the Year. Marcia Daniels of Camden Middle School was recognized as First Alternate Teacher of the Year, while Camden High’s Rasheedah Edwards earned Outstanding First Year Teacher honors. Pine Tree Hill Elementary Principal Markeita Barber was also named District Principal of the Year. District leaders say these educators make a lasting impact on students and school communities across Kershaw County. Congrats also goes out to all the individual school teachers of the year and the finalists for the major awards as well.
