During the September 2nd school board meeting, the Kershaw County School Board approved Heather Jackson as the new assistant principal of Pine Tree Hill Elementary. A veteran educator with 17 years of experience, Jackson began her KCSD journey in 2016 as a third grade teacher at Bethune Elementary, where she was named Teacher of the Year in 2019. She also served in a district role as a Technology and Instructional Specialist before transitioning to an interventionist at Mt. Pisgah Elementary. In 2021, she joined Pine Tree Hill Elementary as the MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) Coordinator, where she currently serves. Before coming to KCSD, Jackson taught third and fifth grades in Richland County School District Two and Lee County School District.

“I’m honored to be stepping into the role of Assistant Principal at Pine Tree Hill Elementary. I’ve truly enjoyed being a part of the Bullpup family, and I look forward to continuing to support our amazing students, dedicated staff, and wonderful families in this new role,” says Jackson.

Jackson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education from Columbia College, a Master of Education in Teacher Leadership from Southern Wesleyan University, a Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of West Alabama, and a certification in administration and leadership from Gardner Webb University. Jackson completed the district’s Developing Administrators Program (DAP) in 2019. She has served as a school-level Title 1 Coordinator and Crate manager and Adept 4.0 Evaluator.
