According to Kershaw County Coroner David West, 911 received a call Saturday August 10th at 11:43 AM of a motor vehicle accident on I 20 Mile Marker 93 East. Legion Collegiate Academy teacher and baseball coach Jalen Benjamin was heading to a baseball game in Sumter when his truck was hit in the rear. He was pronounced dead at the scene. It is under investigation by South Carolina Highway Patrol and Kershaw County Coroner’s Office.
