Ray of Sunshine and Service is a student-led initiative focused on giving back, spreading kindness, and brightening our community one service project at a time. Kershaw County School District Teacher of the Year Randi Ray asked for community donations and sponsors to allow her school and students to bring “sunshine” to their community. On Tuesday from 4-6 p.m. folks in the Lugoff/Elgin area came to the Blaney Elementary school gym and “shop” for a Halloween costume for their child at no cost. Donations came in from all over the county of gently used Halloween costumes and she has nearly 400 costumes to offer to families. We spoke with Randi, HERE is our full conversation.
