Kershaw County Republicans favored Darline Graham in Tuesday’s special U.S. Senate primary. With all county precincts reporting, unofficially, Graham received 1,622 votes, or just over 38 percent. Ralph Norman finished second locally with 1,051 votes, nearly 25 percent, followed by Russell Fry with 726 and Mark Sanford with 574. A total of 4,244 votes were cast in Kershaw County.
Statewide, Graham also finished first with nearly 33 percent of the vote, while Norman placed second with about 25 percent. With no candidate receiving a majority, Graham and Norman advance to a Republican runoff on August 25 once results are certified.
