Kershaw County Library is closing out its summer reading season with two big family-friendly nature events this month. On Saturday, July 18th, children ages 12 and under can enjoy the Go Wild Messtival from 9 until noon at the Nature as Teacher Preserve on Chestnut Ferry Road in Camden. The free event features messy outdoor fun including mud kitchens, bug exploration, scavenger hunts, and nature crafts. Then on July 23rd, the South Carolina Aquarium brings live turtles, snakes, sea stars, and crabs to Elgin at 11 a.m. and the Camden Library at 2 p.m. Both programs are free and open to the public.
