The school board for Horse Creek Academy-Kershaw has announced three finalists as part of its effort to rename the school ahead of the next academic year. Board Chair Craig Smith says nearly 75 submissions were received from students, teachers, and families. The three finalists are Camden Charter School, Camden Preparatory School, and Palmetto Trail Academy. Voting is now underway and runs through May 18, with the school community helping decide the final name. The winning selection will be announced May 19, with the new name officially taking effect July first, as the school also joins the Charter Institute at Erskine.
