A suspect has been charged in connection with a deadly hit-and-run earlier this month near Elgin. Authorities say 42-year-old Wayne Flippin of Elgin is charged with hit and run resulting in death in connection with the April ninth incident. Officials say 29-year-old Brandon James Butler was traveling on a moped along Wildwood Lane when he was struck by a vehicle that left the scene. Butler was found lying in the roadway and was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol is ongoing.
