The Kershaw County Council meets Tuesday evening June 9th with a full agenda that includes several economic development, budget and land use matters. Council is expected to consider first reading of an ordinance related to a proposed economic development project known as “Project Gemstone,” along with amendments involving the county’s joint industrial park agreement with Fairfield County. Council will also hold second reading on the county’s fiscal year 2026-27 budget ordinance and consider several property lease agreements involving Clemson Extension, the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, and the South Carolina Forestry Commission. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Kershaw County Government Center in Camden and is open to the public.
