The City of Camden has announced the appointment of Tori Smith as its new director of finance. Smith brings more than two decades of experience in governmental and public-school finance. Most recently, she served as finance director for South Carolina Virtual Charter School, where she led the transition of accounting operations to in-house management and oversaw budgeting, audits, and financial compliance.
She previously spent over 20 years with Kershaw County School District in several financial leadership roles. City Manager Matt DeWitt says Smith’s background and leadership will strengthen the city’s financial operations and support long-term goals. As finance director, Smith will oversee Camden’s budgeting, payroll, reporting, and financial management.
