Camden Native Patrick Davis Named South Carolina Poet Laureate

Governor Henry McMaster has appointed Camden native Russell “Patrick” Davis as South Carolina’s new Poet Laureate. Davis, a nationally recognized singer-songwriter and producer, has built a career telling stories through music while maintaining strong ties to his hometown of Camden. A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Davis has collaborated with a wide range of artists and produced multiple albums. The Poet Laureate position, established in 1934, promotes poetry across the state through public programs and outreach.
