Camden City Council meets Tuesday evening with zoning changes, new sign regulations and a proposed traffic change among the items on its agenda. The September 1st meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at Camden City Hall. Council is scheduled to give second reading to an ordinance updating the city’s rules for billboards and digital signs. The proposal would prohibit new billboards while allowing existing billboards to remain and be maintained or replaced under certain requirements.
Council will also consider first reading of a request to rezone four properties along Lyttleton Street and Railroad Avenue from residential to Limited Business District. The Planning Commission held a public hearing in June and voted unanimously to recommend approval. Also on the agenda is discussion of making Johnson Lane a one-way road, along with a resolution involving state loan assistance for a water treatment plant study.
Several appointments and reappointments to the city’s Board of Construction Appeals are also scheduled for consideration. Camden City Council meetings are open to the public.
