The South Carolina Department of Transportation says a bridge on Veterans Row over Twenty-Five Mile Creek in Kershaw County will close for repairs starting May 12. Officials say the closure is expected to last about three weeks due to structural deficiencies found during a recent inspection. A detour will be in place using Sessions Road, Barfield Road, and Smyrna Road, adding just under three miles to travel. The bridge is expected to reopen by May 29, weather permitting. Drivers are urged to plan ahead, and school bus routes in the area may also be affected
