The Town of Bethune officials announced on Thursday that Mayor LaDonna Brown resigned from office. Brown officially submitted a resignation letter dated for August 7th to the Kershaw County Voter Registration and Election Office. Her resignation became effective at the close of business on Tuesday.
Bethune officials say town government operations will continue as normal following Brown’s departure.
Bethune Mayor Pro Tem Kenneth McCaskill has notified the Governor office as well as the South Carolina State Election Commission of the resignation.
