Bethune Energy is expanding its investment in Kershaw County healthcare. The company has announced a $6 million donation over the next 20 years to the Health Services District of Kershaw County, providing unrestricted funding to help ensure long-term access to healthcare services across the county.

The announcement follows news of a separate $1.8 million commitment to the Community Medical Clinic of Kershaw County, which will expand free medical care for uninsured residents in the Bethune area. Together, the two commitments total $7.8 million in planned healthcare investments. Annual donations will begin once the proposed natural gas power plant becomes operational, with construction expected to begin in 2028 or 2029 and operations targeted for 2031.
