Altercation Between Brothers Leaves Both Injured

According to the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday September 26th, around 1:15 pm, two brothers were involved in an altercation on Bob Hugh Road in the Jefferson area of Kershaw County. It ended with one being hit with a wooden board and the other being shot. The brother who fired the shot called 911 to report the incident. He waited at the scene for deputies to arrive and claimed his brother assaulted him with a wooden pipe, and he fired his pistol in self-defense. He claimed he did not intend to kill his brother; he was just defending himself. The brother who was shot was flown to a nearby trauma center and is expected to be Okay. No names will be mentioned at this time due to this remaining an active investigation.
