The North Central Knights saw their three-game winning streak come to an end Friday night as the Lamar Silver Foxes pulled away for a 59-33 region victory in Lamar.

North Central entered the matchup playing some of its best football of the season after consecutive victories over Chesterfield, Lee Central and McBee. The Knights were coming off an impressive 49-12 win over McBee, but Lamar’s high-powered offense proved difficult to slow down.

The Silver Foxes were led by quarterback Jaylen Morris, who put together a huge night through the air. Morris threw for 282 yards and six touchdowns on just 16 pass attempts, while also adding 38 yards on the ground. Lamar also found plenty of success with its rushing attack, helping the Silver Foxes put 59 points on the scoreboard.

Despite the loss, the Knights managed to score 33 points against a Lamar team that has been one of the hottest programs in the area. The loss drops North Central to 4-5 on the season, while Lamar improves to 8-1 and extends its winning streak to seven games.

North Central will now turn its attention to the final game of the regular season. The Knights return home this Friday night to take on Cheraw, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
