Kershaw County officials say a human case of West Nile Virus has been confirmed in the Camden area, and officials will continue monitoring the situation.
Residents are urged to reduce their risk by emptying standing water at least once a week, using insect repellent, wearing long sleeves and pants around dawn and dusk, and checking window and door screens. Free mosquito dunks for treating standing water are available to Kershaw County residents at the Government Center lobby while supplies last.
