The Lugoff-Elgin Demons will look to keep their perfect start to the 2026 season alive Friday night when they welcome the Nation Ford Falcons to Lugoff for a non-region matchup.
Lugoff-Elgin enters the contest with plenty of momentum after improving to 2-0 with a dramatic 28-25 victory over Kershaw County rival Camden last Friday night. The win was the Demons’ first over the Bulldogs since 2017 and gave Lugoff-Elgin one of its biggest victories in recent years.
Senior running back Tiyon Fanning played a major role in the win, rushing for 133 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries. Through the first two games, Fanning is averaging 166.5 rushing yards per game and has scored five touchdowns. Quarterback Z. Williams completed 11 of 19 passes for 116 yards against Camden.
The Demons opened the season with a 41-25 victory over Chapin before knocking off Camden 28-25, giving Lugoff-Elgin 69 points through its first two games.
Nation Ford comes into Friday night’s game looking for its first victory of the season. The Falcons are 0-2 after suffering a 56-0 loss to South Pointe last week.
For Lugoff-Elgin, Friday presents a different challenge. After the emotion surrounding the Camden rivalry, the Demons will have to quickly turn the page and avoid a letdown against a Nation Ford team hungry to get into the win column.
A victory would move Lugoff-Elgin to 3-0 before the Demons hit the road Sept. 18 to face South Aiken.
