Kershaw County Library is celebrating Library Card Sign-Up Month this September by challenging current cardholders to bring some new readers to the library. Cardholders can pick up referral cards at any KCL location and give them to friends or family members who don’t already have a library card. When that person signs up for a new account using the referral card, the current cardholder gets credit.

The person with the most new sign-ups by September 30th will win a library-themed prize basket featuring a tote bag, socks, mug, hat and bookmark. And kids count, too — KCL issues library cards from birth onward. Library cards are free and provide access to millions of books through SC LENDS, along with eBooks, downloadable audiobooks, streaming movies and television, and other resources.

Referral cards are available at the Camden, Elgin and Bethune branches. The contest runs through September 30th. For more information, visit kershawcountylibrary.org.
