The City of Camden is inviting families to celebrate Independence Day with the 10th Annual Kids’ Fourth of July Parade and a special community-wide America 250 celebration.

The free event begins July 4th at 9:30 a.m. at Camden City Hall, where children can decorate bicycles, scooters, and wagons in patriotic red, white, and blue before the parade steps off at 10:30. Organizers say children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult, and motorized vehicles are not permitted. A special highlight this year will be the debut of a 250th anniversary anthem composed by Camden musician Ike Pitts and performed by students in KCSD’s Arts Arising program.

The parade will end at Camden City Arena with live music, family activities, free refreshments, snow cones for participants, and exhibits celebrating America’s upcoming 250th birthday.
