A Kershaw County man has pleaded guilty in federal court to possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine. 48 year-old Van Lydell Starling of Kershaw entered the guilty plea after investigators executed a search warrant at his Green Hill Road residence in Lugoff in July 2023. Authorities found crack cocaine, multiple firearms, digital scales, sandwich bags, and what appeared to be a drug ledger during the search. Federal prosecutors say the evidence indicated the drugs were intended for distribution. Starling faces up to 30 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release. Sentencing will be scheduled at a later date.
